Awards and Grants
The APMF 2010 Organising Committee is pleased to announce that all abstracts chosen to be presented at the Meeting will be considered for the Barbara Gross Award. When submitting your abstract, please indicate if you are eligible to be considered for the Jean Hailes Memorial Prize or the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation Award. All awards will be presented during the Meeting Dinner. Entrants wishing to be considered for any of the awards must be members of the Asia Pacific Menopause Federation or any member country society.
Judging will be according to the following criteria:
- Originality and interest
- Abstract structure and clarity
- Scientific validity
- Potential significance
Barbara Gross Award is presented for the best overall free communication of poster by any delegate. All free communications and posters presented at the Meeting will be entered for this award. The winner will receive a certificate of honour and A$1,000.
Jean Hailes Memorial Prize is presented for the best free communication by a delegate who is within 10 years of being awarded their tertiary degree. The winner will receive a certificate and A$500.
The Asia Pacific Menopause Federation Award is presented to the best free communication or poster from a young person who is still within 10 years of completing their tertiary degree. The winner will receive a certificate of honour and US$500.
Australasian Menopause Society Scientific Award is presented for the most meritorious contribution to the field of menopause by an Australian investigator. This is an annual award based on a published/accepted paper in the past 12 months accepted and in press by 30 June 2010. The paper should be on a specific subject related to menopause.
To apply for this award, applications should forward to the Meeting Managers via email apmf2010@arinex.com.au , a copy of their published/accepted paper and proof of publication/acceptance. A covering letter providing applicant contact details must also be included.
The winner will receive a certificate of honour and A$500.
AMS Travel Grants 2010
The Australasian Menopause Society will be offering 3 Travel Grants for the 2010 Meeting. 2 grants of A$500 are available for local applicants, with 1 grant of A$1000 available for an international applicant. Preference will be given to abstract presenters.
This is an AMS Education & Research Fund initiative. Applications should be submitted to the Meeting Managers (apmf2010@arinex.com.au) with supporting evidence of need for a travel grant.
